Our Mission
Who We Are
The Colombian Student Association at Purdue (CSAP) is a student organization at Purdue University dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for Colombian students and those interested in Colombian culture.
We strive to provide academic support, cultural enrichment, professional development, and a sense of belonging for our members. Through events, mentorship, and collaboration, we aim to make the Purdue experience as enriching and memorable as possible.

Identity
Our Logo
The CSAP logo features a stylized representation of a Quimbaya pectoral — a pre-Columbian golden artifact created by the Quimbaya civilization of Colombia around 300–1550 CE.
The Quimbaya were master goldsmiths, and their intricate golden pieces now reside in some of the world's greatest museums, including the Museo del Oro in Bogotá. By adopting this symbol, CSAP honors the rich indigenous heritage of Colombia and the country's deep connection to gold, craftsmanship, and creativity.
The golden color of the emblem also reflects Purdue's gold — a bridge between our Colombian roots and our Boilermaker identity.
Our Journey
A Brief History
Founded — 2011
CSAP was established at Purdue University by a group of passionate Colombian students who wanted to create a cultural home on campus.
Growth
The association grew steadily, organizing cultural events, academic support sessions, and forging connections with other Latinx organizations at Purdue.
Community Impact
CSAP expanded its reach through the Big Sibling Program, helping incoming Colombian students navigate life at Purdue with the guidance of experienced members.
Today — 2025–26
With a passionate board and a growing membership, CSAP continues to thrive — hosting events, supporting students, and celebrating Colombian culture every semester.
